Rules of Engagement
Who is the ideal adventurer for Adventures on a Dime?
- You are 21 and older
- You love exploring new cities and having new experiences
- You are intrigued by language “barriers” and are willing to work on communicating with people on their terms if English is not very widely spoken
- You are amenable to different standards of accommodations and environment. (I.e, the rest of the world is not Western Centric)
- You like trying new foods and you don’t turn your nose up at unfamiliar things
- You’re pleasant to be around, early in the morning or late at night
- You’re ON TIME and responsible for yourself
- You’re ready to get some passport stamps
- Flexible and quickly adapt to changes in plans
- You’re outgoing and friendly
- You’re ready to have fun
You are not a good fit for an Adventures on a Dime Adventurer if:
- You like to complain about every little inconvenience or service hiccup. Just chill, you’re on vacation
- You’re habitually late
- You oversleep or sleep late when we have somewhere to be
- You are super introverted and don’t like being around people
- You don’t like surprises or “disruptions” in schedules
- You are Xenophobic, not open to other people, in other countries with other ways of livin
- You are not fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Some locations still require full vaccination for entr
- You don’t like traveling by alternative methods, I.e. buses, trains, ferries, small planes
- You’re scary. About things, people, and food…
Travel Insurance
- You are required to have travel insurance no more than 7 days after booking. Failure to acquire this will result in forfeiture of your deposit and no refunds will be given. We will be happy to help you find a plan that works best for you.
- Your insurance rider must include up to $50,000 in medical coverage and repatriation services
Vaccines
- All travelers must be fully vaccinated with the COVID-19 vaccine
- Any country specific vaccines should be acquired 30 days before departure or your reservation will be canceled
Payments
- Initial deposits are non-refundable after 24 hours of booking.
- All payments are non-refundable after 24 hours of booking.
- If you need to cancel, please contact your travel insurance company for reimbursement.
- Issues with Partial payments for down payments or trip payments using Affirm or PayPal Paylater services should be directed to those respective companies.
- A 3% fee is added to all credit/debit card transactions using PayPal/Square/Stripe.
- We do not accept CashApp.
- Zelle payments do not have any extra fees associated with it.
Airfare Assistance
- Airfare Assistance option: We will monitor to get you the best flight and pricing as possible; we'll send you the best flights we find and recommend.
- Most flights will be based out of airline hubs: ATL, JFK, ORD on the east coast, LAX, SEA, SFO. You will be responsible for getting to these locations to take the group flight or you may book your airfare directly from your city to the location.
Trip Chats
- Regularly scheduled Zoom/Google Meet chats will be hosted to answer questions about the booking process, the trip, payments and any other topic related to the trip.
Accessibility
- The majority of our trips are not ADA Accessible since they are in foreign countries. Please take this into account before booking. There are no refunds for lack of accommodation by vendors and attractions.
